The other day I received a comment when I parked my bike. One of the guys at the bicycle storage — which I visit almost every day currently — mentioned to me that I always enter so happy and cheerful. Greeting the operators and wishing them a good day. I actually thought this was a commonplace, but apparently this seems remarkable. So I decided to dedicate this weeks blogpost to this. Because I hope more people will choose happy.
It all comes down to your attitude
Your outlook on life depends largely on your attitude. You don’t always have control what happens to you. But I believe you always have a choice how to respond. Reframing any given situation and seeing the good in all things. There is always something to be grateful for. There is always a lesson to be learnt. Which makes life the most exiting journey we can undertake.
You are responsible for your own happiness. Nobody else can do that for you. Only you know best what makes you tick. So do what you love. Ensure you fuel your own passion. You need to build your own party in life. Dance if you want to! I reward myself regularly with little things. I strongly believe that life is too short to drink bad coffee. I love to eat ice-cream. Which by the way is scientifically proven to make you happy! I actively manage the commitments in my agenda on what gives me energy. (Although I am stil learning to pace myself.)
Be kind and share happy
Happiness is contagious. The same goes for enthusiasm. So be the change you want to see in the world, as Gandi thought us. Don’t be afraid to share your happiness with the world. Go on, make someones day — like the operators at my bicycle storage. Shine. Be kind. Share happy and remember: when you smile, the world smiles back at you. So you are doing this for your own good too!
